How to remove fetus in case of fetus demise

Step-by-step: declare a fetus as demised

1. Open the exam and go to the Prepare exam tab.
2. In the Fetuses table, click the pencil (edit) icon in the row for the fetus that has demised.
3. Click Declare fetus as demised, then close the window.
4. The fetus row is marked as demised, and the demise date is set to the exam date. You can edit the date in the table.

Controlling what appears on the report

• After you declare a demise, a Demised Fetuses section appears in the report sidebar, listing the fetus and the demise date, with a Show demised toggle.
• In the exam where you declare the demise, the demised fetus's sections stay visible so you can document it. In later exams of the same pregnancy, they are hidden by default. Turn on Show demised to show them.
• On the report, the demised fetus's empty fields are hidden.

Common questions / troubleshooting

Can I delete a fetus instead?

Deleting is a separate action, and it is only possible for a fetus that has no exam data. If a fetus was added by mistake and cannot be removed, contact Sonio support.

I need to undo a demise.

Open the same fetus edit window and click Declare fetus as alive.

Do the other fetuses get renumbered?

No. The labels stay the same.
