🌐 Sonio 3D Workflow Guide

The 3D Workflow in Sonio allows you to seamlessly open, view, edit, and re-upload 3D DICOM ultrasound files using your locally installed 3D viewer. This is designed as a “one-click” experience, so you can move between Sonio and your desktop tools without extra steps.

✅ Getting Started

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Access to Sonio with your login credentials
  • The Sonio local application installed on your desktop
  • A 3D DICOM viewer (e.g., GE 4D Viewer, Voluson software) already installed

     3. Automatic Launch in Viewer
    1. The file will open in your installed 3D DICOM viewer with no extra steps

      4. Edit in the Viewer

    2. Save your edits directly within the 4D viewer, and then export to send to Sonio
    3. Click the floppy disk icon or go to file
      1. Then select “Dicom send” for Dicom Image and Measurements
      2. or… select Export as JPEG image (no Measurements)

     5. Seamless Re-Upload
    • Once you save, the file is automatically re-uploaded back into Sonio.
    • You’ll see the updated version attached to the patient’s report.
    • Once you save, the file can also be exported back to DICOM and/or be a jpeg export

🌟 Key Benefits

  • One-Click Simplicity → No need to manually download and re-upload files
  • Integrated Workflow → Work directly with your preferred 3D viewer while staying connected to Sonio
  • Time Savings → Edits and uploads happen in the background

🛠️ Troubleshooting Tips

  • File doesn’t open?
    • Check that your 3D viewer is installed and set as the default application for DICOM files
  • Edits not showing in Sonio?
    • Confirm you clicked Save in your 3D viewer
    • Ensure the Sonio local app is running in the background
  • Slow upload?
    • Large 3D files may take extra time depending on your internet speed
